FlyLady, the home organization expert, advises readers to declutter their homes 27 things at a time. Readers are encouraged to find 27 things to throw away and 27 things to give away. I’ve taken this tip and modified it slightly by setting out to declutter my home by selling 27 things (or more).

Half.com is perfect for this for the following reasons:

  • Listing an item takes less than one minute
  • Transactions on Half.com improve your eBay rating, which can especially come in handy down the line if you need to sell something valuable
  • There is a healthy community of buyers on Half.com

Most people probably don’t realize that they have hundreds of dollars worth of stuff in books, CDs, DVDs, and computer games sitting around their homes unused and unloved. FlyLady says to ask yourself if you really love the item and if you don’t, get rid of it. One of my items up for sale is a Ween album from 1991. I’m not loving it, so it has been posted to Half.com. Good riddance.
